About Elspeth.

I’m Elspeth, an accredited coach from Derbyshire in the UK. I work predominantly online, as I work with wonderful people all around the world but I do love an in person or group session too. I always work with a smile and hope that you’ll leave every session feeling a little lighter. I love to excite and encourage others to develop themselves and define their version of success in order to lead a happy and fulfilled life.

Coaching Story

My coaching journey started in 2008 when I was working for a large multi national. I was absolutely miserable but they asked me to become the face of their female STEM recruitment campaign which included talking at various events. I jumped at the offer. I thought I could help the young women I was talking to recognise what they wanted to do rather than what society or their families might be encouraging them to do AND I did still believe that jobs in science could be super rewarding. Anyway it was while I was at one of these events in London that I heard the term 'life coach' for the first time. This incredible lady bounded into the room of about 400 young women and her energy and openness transfixed me. After her keynote I knew that my life would never be the same again. I know that sounds corny but it’s true.

  • I believe that there is a version of success for everyone and that you should be able to build that for yourself

  • Cooking is like meditation for me

  • I live outside of my comfort zone most weeks

  • I climb at least twice a week

  • My values are: Empathy, Joy, Excitement, Nature, Kindness and Positivity

  • I want success for you as much as I want it for myself

  • I love travelling

  • I could quite happily read all day everyday

  • I smile. A lot. A manager once told me it was a bad thing, “you need to smile less it’s not professional”. Sorry Merv, that’s just not true, and my big old grin is here to stay.

  • I love gardening; eating something that a few short months ago was a teeny seed in my hand and being able to sit and listen to nature in a landscape that I helped create is pretty magical.

While training to become a coach I realised that my focus area was actually not very focussed at all as I believe that all aspect of your life play into decisions and problems, hence describing myself as a whole life coach. Ultimately its very hard to be successful in work if things in your personal life are wonky and vice versa. So I don’t have a traditional ‘niche’, instead I’m a careers, wellness, motivational and business coach because for me it’s about the person not the problem.
